I made this necklace in one of the hardest seasons of my life. I was in a dressing room, trying on a dress, and I began to cry. The kind of crying where you are not even sure what you are crying about, you are simply carrying too much. And then I looked at my phone. It said 11:11. That number stops me every time. It is my sign that God is right there, and that I am not alone. That whatever I am holding, I do not have to hold it by myself. I took a breath, went home, and I made this. It is the first cross I ever created, and it is my favorite thing I have ever put together. What I love about it is that it never has to be just one thing. Some days I wear the pearl strand by itself and it feels complete. Other days I clip the cross on and I feel grounded in something bigger than my outfit. And when I want to wear a different pendant, I just swap it out. Three necklaces, one chain. It works with everything, which means I actually wear it, every single day, not just for special occasions. That is the whole point, really. I do not believe in saving your beautiful things. I believe in wearing them on a Tuesday, in your jeans, with your coffee. I believe in wearing them when you need a reminder of who you are, not just when you want to impress someone.
